MTV Networks Asia and Motorola, continue to join forces to revolutionize the way you use your mobile phone! Mobbed – the entertainment platform that defines, explores and celebrates ‘mobile’ culture – is being launched across Asia Pacific (Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand) this summer. Mobbed is the first-ever digitally focused integrated platform MTV Networks Asia has embarked on, and is fully interactive and integrated across all platforms: on-air, online, on-mobile and even on-ground, thus reaching the youth population in every way possible.
Leading the way of interaction with digital entertainment and steering the future of mobile behavior, Mobbed will be launched in the Philippines with an exciting event in Boracay Island on April 29 to 30. The 2-day event highlights activity booths, celebrity guests, beach games, and performances by two of the country’s hottest bands today – Pupil and Sandwich. The celebrations feature Mobbed as it establishes its full interactivity in today’s youth lifestyle.
Among the many functions of Mobbed are three special key icons: MOTOALERT, Mob Squad, and Mobtage. MOTOALERT provides Mobbers focuses on a new artist each month, allowing Mobbers “full-access” and knowledge of their favorite new acts. Mob Squad is the mobile animated series, which also has downloadable screensavers, wallpapers and ringtones. Mobtage is the cool venue wherein Mobbers can send their mobile phone photos (based on given monthly themes) via GPRS or E-mail. The best images for each month will be shown on MTV.
“Mobbed reinforces MTV’s commitment to connect with our audience on every platform possible. Not only do we create fun and cool branded content that can be downloaded easily at the click of a button, such as the Mob Squad mobile animated series, but we also allow for user-generated content so youth can express themselves and take over MTV via the cutting-edge MMS to TV platform – Mobtage,” commented Nigel Robbins, President of MTV Networks Asia Pacific.
“We are extremely excited about the Mobbed property and our relationship with MTV Networks Asia. MTV helps Motorola to re-energize our brand image and gain greater resonance with our youth mobile users,” commented Neil Stewart, Marketing Director of Motorola Mobile Devices Business, High Growth Markets. “With the launch of Mobbed by MTV and Motorola, we will be providing an even more creative and innovative platform for youth to get branded entertainment via their mobile screens.”
Mobbed, the on-air show, also launches the newest member of the MTV VJ Family – MTV VJ Max, the Singapore-based model/actor/DJ/TV producer heartthrob, who will be hosting the show as it is broadcast in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. VJ Max will also join the Mobbed fun-filled launch party in Boracay, along with favorite MTV Philippines VJs KC and Marc.
